I am very satisfied with my final result as I
feel that my e-pub has good, informative commentaries and good video/audio
commentaries as well. I also find my poster very well done as well as I think
the poster makes the film look even better than it actually is. I think that
the e-pub required more time as I thought originally as I was pretty much
nearly finished, until I had to wait for my movie to compress and get it on my
USB. Because I only just got it the evening before, I had to try and break up
the film into scenes, record the commentaries, and broaden the normal written
commentaries in about one night. I found it very difficult. I think I might
like to of changed my poster a little bit as I think I might have liked a quote
or a saying as well but I ran out of time as I had to finish everything else. I
also would have liked to fix up the audio a little bit as I was rushing it and
my talking wasn’t very clear in the end. If I could start the project again, I
would have gone to get my movie straight away so that I would have more time to
do all of the things I needed to do with it.
My poster is very close to what I imagined it,
maybe even better than I thought it would be. I could of definitely improved it
if I had time, but it’s still really good. My e-pub was a little rushed but
it’s still very good I think. I would have liked the written commentaries to be
a little bit longer but I believe I had written about as much as I could for my
scenes. For my poster, I wanted it to have an image of one of the main scenes
in my film. I wanted either a picture of the locker or the camera in the bush
with the play doe man just out of the bush. I decided to do the second idea as
I found it more interesting and I thought a kind of photo like that would be an
interesting poster. I also have simple text saying the title, my name and the
rating of the movie. I made the text colourful and with interesting font to
make it fit the genre of the film that is a children’s movie. For my e-pub, I used
a lot of photos and put them on the e-pub in interesting ways. I then had a
plain yellow background. I found this more simple, but very affective. I had a
lot of difficulty exporting my finished voice commentaries out of Garageband, I
wasn’t sure how to do it. I than asked Mr. Andrews how to export them and he
helped me. One thing that really caused a lot of trouble and made time
management an issue was that someone stole from my locker and my USB was in it.
So, unfortunately, I couldn’t use my already broken up scenes which took up a
lot of time. Other than that, I didn’t have that much trouble using the
software’s. I did have to take new photos for my poster as I wanted a better
quality photo than the quality that my film already had. I also had to write
all of the commentaries from scratch because I wanted to add much more
information I had in my reflections and decided it would be much easier if I
just started all over again. I made my poster first. I took a few pictures of
different places for my play doe man and chose which one I wanted for my
poster. I then used the rest for extra photos at the start of my e-pub. For my
commentaries, I first made a dot point plan of what I was going to write. I
used this for recording my voice commentaries. I then broadened that dot points
into longer sentences and added more information for my written commentaries. I
had the dot point plans for both my directors commentaries and my special
effects commentaries, but other than that I didn’t have any other extra bits of
documentations, charts or lists. I had good time management at the start of
creating my e-pub but near the end of the process of creating my e-pub (because
of the movie downloading issue), I had very bad time management near the end. I
improved by working really hard one night and got nearly everything done. I was
still late with some things which I’m really sad about but I tried really hard
to get everything done on time. I don’t think I have put enough reflections on
my blog through the term of doing this project. I think I could have definitely
put more information about my work and how I was going with it. Although, I
still post a lot of information and photos explaining how I did my poster and
my improvements on it as well.
