Film Noir Rough Edit Notes

Media Film Notes- (Film 2 was ours)

Film 1 (Nicky...)

Story Line:
   It's too horror
Hard to understand why the killer kidnapped the girl

Mise-en-scene:
The settings are good - fit what was happening
The costumes fit how the characters are
   Not that much dark lighting

Acting:
   Believable

Cinematography:
The shots in the locker room are really good

Film 3 (Charlie...)

Story Line:
   Resembles film noir

Mise-en-scene:
   Needs more dark lighting
The ally and office setting fits the theme and the action
   The costumes fit the characters

Acting:
The acting style fits the characters they are portraying

Cinematography:
Angles including the overhead shots are done very nicely
   Framing is good

Film 4 (Milly...)

Story Line:
   Was easy to follow
   Resembles film noir
The walking at the start was a little long and not needed

Mise-en-scene:
The shadows used were creative and well done
The last scene had too many edits when it should have been one continuous shot
The settings fit what the story intended

Acting:
Showed what the characters were suppose to be like

Cinematography:
The overhead shots and the canted angles of the girl walking were really good and made good shadows

Film 5 (Ilona...)

Story Line:
The storyline is clear and resembles film noir
Some of the walking at the start can be cut a little

Mise-en-scene:
The lighting when the detective is questioning the other girl is good
Maybe needed some more lighting to avoid the black dots that appear when the cameras sensitivity goes all weird

Acting:
   They all stayed is character
   Acting styles fit there characters

Cinematography:
   Had low exposure
   The angles used were good
